Have you forgotten who are the pioneers of beat making? It is AKAI MPC, without them there is no us. Without them there is no "super-producer" in any genre of electronically induced music.

Not a bad piece. but not for me. I think the Element finds itself , in my eyes, in a similar situation as the iPad did when it first hit the market. Its not an iphone and its not a laptop... folks needed to figure out where it fit into their lives. Now we know.

The element is not really the studio/ren but not the fly or even an mpd. So for me I'm not sure its the thing for me. But I can see a lot of cats copping it because it creates a new entry point for none mpc users similar to the way protools express or logic express or the like has done.

it all comes down to functionality/stability of the software and the build quality of the hardware... if they deliver on both sides, it's good for the retail price... but for now all we have is pictures, so i guess we'll see how this works out...

Should be nice if 1.5 MPC Software does it, as well, MPC Controller for third party apps, with a decent custom Mapping program/option.

Really want to see the mixer design of the Element... If Insert effect switch the Pad route to a submix, does the mixer is sequence based.

Nice if this thin controller can finance the development of AKAI software.

can you use the Element with our full version of the MPC software, or does it have to be the new scaled down lite version?

then it might be useful as a kind of dongle for working on the road, even though I still think it's ridiculous that the software can't be run without attaching the Ren/Studio all the time

It could be ultra portable if coupled with an 11 inch macbook air. Might even consider that...
still wish they could do this kind of software on the ipad instead of the worthless Retronyms drum machine + AKAI tramp stamp.

No track mixer, track view or track mute icon appears in the element software.

Thats actually not a big deal, it will simplify the mixing I guess.
You just wont be able to put FX on groups of sounds.
