MPC Latency using Reaper

I've just loaded up the MPC Ren(1.4) inside Reaper (4.52) on my Win 7 ultimate (64bit) PC and just randomly threw some sounds into the MPC. There's quite a bit of latency when pressing one of the pads, so much so that you would struggle to make anything this way.

Is there a way of reducing the MPC's latency within Reaper?

Just tried the same with Cubase version 5 and there's no noticeable latency to my ears.

When I hit the pad I get the sound immediately.

Check the audio preferences in both DAWs and compare them (both using the Ren as the sound card or something else?). Is the audio buffer settings the same in each DAW? Lower the buffer in Reaper and it should improve latency..

Thanks Jah. Not sure what I changed, if anything, but the problem seems to have sorted itself out somehow.

have to make sure you arm the vst track that mpc software is on(you can right click on arm and set it to just input monitoring only...) This fixes it ...

I forgot all about this thread. I ran into this issue last time when I downloaded Reaper. It performs unlike any DAW I have ever used in this regard.
