Floppy Disk Driver Cable-problem

Hey!

So i bought myself an floppy disk driver (dont ask me why, i want one) from mpc-stuff. When i opened up my mpc 2000xl, took out the cf-card-reader and was about to put in the floppy-driver. When i noticed that the cable that was already in the MPC didn't match up with the new driver output.

So this is the two cable ends



This actually fits, but the output of the mpc has the same input, so the version of the pic above doesn't fit.

So I think i need a cable with Floppy 4-pol'inputs on booth side. But it is impossible to find. I've in stores all day looking for it. But its no where to be found. Not even on the internet. So you guys have any idea of how i should solve this?

If your floppy drive only needs 5VDC to operate, buy a 4 Pin Molex to Floppy Power Cable Adapter

No, the input of the floppydiskdriver is a floppy 4 pin. I got a hold of the guys at mpc-stuff, and they told me that its a extremely rare cable, that could only be bought buy them (Y)

either get the cable mpc hunter suggested to add to what you have.... or scrap the cable that came with the floppy and get a cable with the floppy drive connector at each end

The molex doesent fit. And its impossible(?) to find a cable with a floppy driver connector at booth ends. But if you can... PLZ let me know, cuz i really need it

^ so make it yourself... splice the wires and that.

Molex connectors are made to a standard and a male and female will always mate together. If they do not, move the wires so the pins/contacts inside the connectors are straight.

The pitch on the floppy drive power connector is 2.50mm. This is a standard spacing and you should find a wide variety of cables that are made to this specification. They are sometimes called jumper cables and are very common. Hint: Search for "4 pin jumper cable".
