Makes sense in the regards. Going to make the most of the Studio and still cling on to my 5k for at least a little while. It's been good to me

By 'standard' I meant the existing MPC software that Renaissance and Studio users have installed.

I mentioned that during the MPC 5K's 2.0 development in this forum and got flamed (which is typical when I talk MPCs....but nonetheless)....for suggestion paid updates.

This is getting off subject now but you shouldnt have to pay extra to have polished up, fully functional and %100 bug free product...if what you described was the case where's the incentive for the company to strive to have it right at the gate knowing they'll suck more money outta the customer for extended OS warranty in the end, doesnt make sense. If akai did what JJ did with mpc OS that'd be more like it. But akai cannot even compete with JJ's update frequency or feature improvements alone

I am well versed on MPCs. They didn't sleep. The MPC 4000 was atrocious when it was released. It took like 6 months for Akai to get it working so you can do something as simple as sample some sounds and sequence them. I will post the email I received from the first guy I sold it too if you like...

I have to agree... Polished and functional should be given. I guess I am referring to optional, bonus features 5, 6, 10 years down the road.

Can you repost all of your posts where you claimed that the MPC 4000 was the best thing to ever happen to the music world instead? Its funny that you are calling the MPC 4000 "atrocious" now yet you were urging people to run out and buy the MPC 4000 when Akai released it.

But seriously though, the MPC 4000 WAS terrible. It took a few OS updates to make it stable. Just Blaze popped up in the forums defending the MPC 4000. But I had to remind him he picked his up AFTER all the updates. Visit the MPC 4000 forums..if they posts weren't all deleted or archived. There are tons of rants about Akai not finishing the OS. Go talk to Feline, he was the ring leader. He used to get upset when I defended the MPC 4000.

Where is all this going? Today, many hear are still using MPCs...past and present. Most of them had OS issues when they were released that was later addressed with varying results depending on who you talk to. The MPC Software is receiving equal or more attention from Akai than any MPC released in the past 15 years.

I support and use the Ren because it is a nice product. And I still have my hardware MPCs if I feel the need to use them....to include the MPC 4000.
