But can't you do that with Sequence Edit? You can copy specific bars or an entire track from Sequence 1 and paste it into Sequence 2 on any track you like.

no it's only option are within the seq presently being edited or used.

Ummmm...

1. Press the [SEQ EDIT] button
2. Press [4] Copy Events
3. Select the Sequence and Track you want to 'Copy From'
4. Select the Sequence and Track you want to 'Copy To'
5. Press F4 [Replace] or F5 [Merge]
Results - You just copied a Track from one sequence to another sequence.

No problem. The Copy Track function is pretty basic. The Copy Events lets you select an entire track or a specific range of events.

But personally, I feel it should have the capabilities of the MPC 2500 where you can select specific events not just all events. There is a current thread discussing this issue.

Specific events? Like just breakdown toms on end of track? Instead of whole track? What would one do with the 2500 and the more open event editor option? Just for curiosity..

With the 2500, you can select just a single pad event (kick drum) from a track and paste it's pattern on a different track and/or different sequence if you choose.

There are options without this function like copying and then erasing specific events.

1. Track Explode (separate pad events into separate tracks)

2. IRCAM time-stretch/pitch-shift

Just a quick update to this now that Jah showed up...

Somebody posted it earlier but, IRCAM licenses the technology for this already so it exists.

I'll knock on Pete's door about this.

You can somewhat perform keygroup time stretch like this.

1. Create a patch phrase
2. Create a new keygroup
3. Assign the patch phrase to that keygroup

I want to note that while this feature is not on the hardware, you can certainly do it in the software. It is easy to click on a track or select specific events in a track to Copy or Cut then paste them into another track.

About when will 1.5 be released? We need audio tracks plus a few more goodies.
