MPC/MIXER/PRO TOOLS Question??

I need a little advice, so here's the question, I want to take my 8 outs and connect them to a external mixer. After that, I want to put the beat through Pro Tools. My question is should the track be seperated when it goes into Pro Tools? What should I do?

Being as though you have the 8 out expansion board you can
separate each track in protools better for the mix. I have recorded
two tracks simultaneously.

I don't know if I asked the question right. What I wanna do is track my beats on a multi track recorder/mixer and place the beat in to Pro Tools. When I put the beat into Pro Tools, should the track be seperated?

Maybe you should rephrase the question again. Do you want to just bounce the stereo mix of the tracks you recorded on another multi tracker into PT or do you want to transfer your session into PT for mixing? If the first then you don't need PT, you can use any stereo editor for that, if the latter then yes the tracks should be seperated. Maybe what you mean to ask is how to get the files you recorded on your multi tracker into PT.

A lil' more detail about what gear you're using and exactly what you're trying to accomplish would be helpful.
