What's amazing, aside of it's history is that it's still on the production line, making it the longest selling model out of the entire range. I never would've predicted that back in '05 when everyone's pads started failing on them. But over the past 5 years, it survived due to the pad fix we all demanded, as well as the evolution of the JJ OS, which started out as a secret experiment in '05 that evolved to a far more advanced OS the following year and still moving forward to this day. There's a lot to be said about the longevity of the 1000 in a decade, with new parts still in development by mpc-stuff.com. Looking back, I never would've imagined a machine that seemed destined to doom survive longer than any other model in history. In my eyes, this "little engine that could" luckily beat all the odds.... even the 1k haters of way back then began to have respect for the machine. With all that's happened in 10 years, the MPC1000 is worthy of writing a book about at some point in time. But anyway, let's celebrate 10 years in the making.
