can a pad cut off another pad?

I was wondering is there a way that a pad can cut off another pad by that I mean say I have a sample on 1 pad playing and I want it to cut off and start playing a sample on another pad as soon as I hit the other pad is this possible?

Yes. You do this in Program Edit.

1. Setting Program's Master Mode to 'Mono'. Only one pad will sound at a time. If a Pad A01 is playing a sample, striking Pad A02 will immediately cut the sample from Pad A01 from playing and the sample assigned to Pad A02 will play.

2. Using Mute Target. You can set a Pad to mute up to 4 pads.

3. Mute Groups

Hopefully the pad that is cutting the other pad off has insurance..

Choke (Program Edit top right of page, I believe). Set all affected pads to Choke 1 and they will cut each other off. If Choke is the same as/ another word for Mute Groups as JAH and Tutor have previously mentioned, my bad.
