Since you were comparing the 2000xl with the Ren I assume you want to integrate the MPC with a software environment as much as possible and that you are willing to invest to accomplish that. Hook them up like I told you in the previous post will get you the most out of it.

Yes.

Ok i may be missing something or over thinking this ,maybe even under thinking it but hows the usb to midi cable supposed to be connected? I have a usb at one end , a module in the middle of cable that says midi ~usb (on the far left on top of module there is a red light,in the middle on top of module there is another light which i believe is green and it says out next to it, then on far right top of module it says in and there is a green light "which is on" since its plugged into imac. on the other end of cable there are two midi cables, one is in and other is out...where do i plug them ? And dont say in my ass,lol jk :o

From what i gather the midi out goes into the mpc midi in. Would my Alesis q29 fit into this equasion somehow? Or do i plug the midi in to the mpc midi out..? Yes ultimately i want to use the mpc with logic pro to sync tracks and use mpc as a midi controller for logic pro sounds

Am I reaching here by asking why didn't U just connect the Alesis USB cable to your PC... From there MPC software can see it and Ren/Studio can use it by selecting it under MIDI

REading your first posts , your plugging your beri mixer into your imac via the 3.5mm input ??? if so ,

Sell that beringher mixer and usb midi in and out, and go for a interface that has audio inputs and out's plus a midi interface built in...
like this one...
