Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hello everyone

I do not know for sure if the mpc i've got my hands on is fitted with the extra 8 outs. It has 8 additional outs fitted on it's back though, but when I go to the mixer, and assign a channel to either of the outs, I get no sound. Is there a way for me to check if the upgrade is installed, without checking the hardware? I'm thinking in the vein of the effectsboard, how it tells you wether or not it's fitted, when you go to the fx menu while in mixer.

Thank you!

Open it to see if the ribbon is fitted properly.

Are you sure your assigning pads to outputs correctly?
Cables ok?
What type of cable are you using?
How are you monitoring the outputs?
Whats connected to the physical out?

Are you turning up the individual output level, in the INDIV mixer screen, as well as assigning it to the individual output?

Thanks for your replies

Pads assigned to the outputs as described in the manual, levels turned up. I'm using regular jack cables to connect to a Mackie mixer. Will try to open it and check if the ribbon is fitted. Just wanted to check if there was a way to check it's functionality without opening it. One quick question: If the 8 outs is fitted on the back, does this mean that the IB-M208P is installed, or could the electronics be missing?

Guess it does. I'll try opening it and cross reference with this vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCmiina870U

Anything is possible, but I would say if you can see the jacks, the board is there.

More likely it is not connected properly, or has been previously connected incorrectly and damaged.
