just got me a studio and i´ve got questions :-)
first after i got i thought i will bring it back, but than i thought i will give the studio some time to test. i rememberd first when i got my 3k i was not surprised at all, but after a time, the 3k is the best mpc made ever, at least for me. i think the same will be with the studio. i will get used to it. coming from the 3k there are a LOT of features an fx that i like. but i have some questions:

1. trimming samples:
when i want to trim a sample, the sample plays only the time as long as i push the button, but i want it to play as whole without holding the pad down.

2. recording a sample:
a) where is the 100msec pre record sound? is this feature gone?
b) as a studio user: WHERE is the record gain?

3. how do i applay effects to a whole program? or lower the volume for all 16 pad at once?i know the the mpc 2500 did this with shift+program button

4. when starting the software sometimes is sometimes says: mpc not conneted, although it is conneted.

5. I was shocked when i realised that it is not possiple to record from the mac directly into the studio. i figured out that i have to use soundflowerd to do so. but i was not able to get it running in the software, although it was working with reaper, any help, or another program suggestion????

BUUUT, i think i am going to like it. so many people saying negative things about the ren and studio. for me it is like a HUGE trip into the future coming from the 3K :-)
thanks in andvance.

1. Trimming Samples: In Sample Edit Mode: The Play All Pad (Pad 16) should play the entire sample regardless of any edits but it's not working correctly for me in OS 1.4. must be a bug.

2. Recording a sample:
a. (Pre- Rec) not a feature on the Ren or Akai Software
b. (MPC Studio Users where is the gain knob or Settings?)

3. How to apply effects to whole program?
a. PROG EDIT window: Edit Zones: Highlight the (All) button to apply changes to every pad. From the tune, Levels, Filters, whatever you select this was a nice feature from the 4000.

4. Not sure as to why this is happening maybe trouble shoot the usb port or hubs that you are using.

5. On Mac using Soundflower with Ren and Studio
How to video:

I was able to follow these steps to get my Ren to record into from my Mac using sound flower into the Akai Software.

(MPC Studio sampling from Vinyl through Headphone port on MacBook Pro)

Sampling Vinyl into your headphone jack on a MAC via the Line here's away:

On your audio interface, or in your audio interface control panel.

Pads must be held down to audition them. A feature request was submitted to allow one-shot triggering of samples which I feel is essential for chopping.
