Ok. Proper midi controller is cool.

Also dig the ren and appreciate all the work but this really sums it up .. The dongle-less software was a smaller yet obvious request and was more just an obvious example of akai bring dumb. The reason it actually happening might be because it was one of the easier things to fix.

With that said , we don't know for sure what 1.5 will include

When i use the MPC Software, of course i will use the hardware too. The hardware is awesome, it fits perfectly. If anything is cool about the Ren so far is the hardware, the soft need improvements... I'll never use MPC Software without the Ren, lolz...

Ability to use the hardware as a midi controller ? OK.... This isn't the direction i wanted them to take. I want the MPC Software to become a full real DAW. If you can use the MPC Hardware with any DAW flawlessly, let's just dump the Soft....

Time will tell on this one. I'm keeping my mouth shut until I actually try it out. Alot of guys are complaining, and its not even out yet. Hopefully akai will violate what I expect (shit), and make a credible update.

1.4 was a credible update .. That made it a much more functional beatmaking tool ! For me at least

The MPC Ren is more than credible, as is Akai. No danger there.

Just excited and curious to see how this beauty will develop in the months & years to come.

If 1.4 was so credible, then we wouldn't see all of these numerous complains in the forum + akai community forum. Hopefully this update will work very well with Trillian.

i see your point, but u gotta remember there are people out there making crazy fly music on the ren.. people making money using the ren etc... u gotta remember that people will complain before they will compliment.. ... I.E. the people who arent having issues arent on the message boards talking about how everything is going smoothly.. u know what i mean?

I feel you on that. But I wouldnt say it's akais best yet. Software wise, you can still make a hit out of it, heck you can with the demo version of fl studio (soulja boy did), but I think it still needs improvement, and hopefully v1.5 will reduce the voracious complains and satisfy alot of users.

It was probably easy to fix because they were already spending time coding the copy protection components of the application to support the Element/Fly controller.

Wishful thinking if anyone believes complaints will stop no matter what Akai does. Akai is adding two heavily sought after features and it is still not enough.

Note that not being able to use the software without the controller was the #1 complaint before the Ren/Studio hit the streets.
