Hello MPCers, Ive been raising my funds to acquire an MPC ren checking all videos and so on I was wondering if any of you had some experience with Maschine (regular versions) VS MPC Studio software, right now Im in doubt since NI just announce MASCHINE 2.0 STUDIO.

Any advice would be appreciated! Cheers!Image

Tough call. I love my Ren but also love the NI Komplete line. Best of both worlds? It's subjective for sure.

I am happy this came out.. I needed help aswell, was considering either to purchase The Renaissance, or Maschine with Presonus Studio one 2.0.. around the same price as the Ren

now that this came out, I think I'm leaning more towards Maschine Studio. They have more experience when it comes to software's, they know what they are doing, and they don't rush their products.

Akai is playing catchup, I believe the Ren will be a success.. but I am more confident in N.I direction

N.I is like samsung
Akai is like Blackberry

The Maschine Studio looks good but not sure if it has any audio inputs like the Ren. So if you sample a lot you may need a workaround like SoundFlower or an additional audio interface.

No audio interface.. but I think their budget was spent on that lcd screen, if they had integrated an audio interface to go along with the updated lcd screen it would have been well over $1000

id hold off until it drops in a couple months, the ren is what it is... I usually don't have anything nice to say about it other then the fact it is solidly built.

I've been an mpc dude my entire life (2000, 2000xl, 2500, and on occasion 1000) but depending on how well the software is on the maschine, I could be jumping ship...

the choices akai has been making lately is really...... poor.

they had the standalone sampler on lock... now they've drifted away from that and by the time they pick it back up, someone will have already taken the lead on it and they will be behind 3-4 years.... just like the software between NI and AKAI...

Im not gonna front, this looks nice and has features that the REN doesnt have.I copped a maschine awhile back and didnt like it so i will not be gettin this.Im staying with my Ren & 1000.Akai just released the element and NI drops this so yeah,Akai is losing right now.Hopefully this will make Akai step it up about 10 notches.Im all about workflow/stabilty and i could give a Sh*t about a color screen. That color screen and all those colors on the controller are not gonna make my music sound better! its all about the brain behind it.Lets hope akai are having a meetin right now and gettin there brains together. They should partner with bitwig or another company and really take it to the next level. These next couple months are gonna be interesting.

Is there any word on maschines studio pricing ?

Man those color LCD's look mad nice so is the overall layout of new maschine

Ren's interface is alright, personally I wouldnt make it a deal maker or breaker as it's sub-par part of the unit
