The New Maschine Studio: NI just BODIED the Renaissance.....

For people to really start trusting akai products again they need to:

1. Finish the mpc5000 os
2. Finish the REN software
3. Quit making childish music instruments
4. Start working on another stand alone
5. Get better marketing

Maybe but this thread also shows this: While Akai fumbles to release piecemeal updates and reign in some kind of stability and direction for it's product line, NI have consistently been able to not only release an assortment of software products, sound libraries and a new Maschine software refresh but also a new controller retrofitted for it. That says a lot!

I'm not yet decided on this new Maschine Studio but even still. I tried the MPC Ren on multiple occasions. Tried. While it was not for me and I was left woefully underwhelmed, I can see how someone bent on that workflow would see it as the only viable option. However, some of us aren't doing much "jumping on" at all because we didn't like nor invest in the Ren to begin with.

I do agree- the product looks pretty damn enticing and among many things that Akai can learn from this is to up their marketing.

Too bad NI didn't have a real musician in their video, like Ronald Jenkees.

Damn, some of you are really quick to jump on NI dick and trash the ren.
And some haven't even had one or tested them out.!
Some would say
Me, I don't like this new NI studio, and I don't fall for advertised goodies
because the outcome is always less.

This thing doesn't have a souncard.
And we will see about the software, it will have bugs/flaws
Software always does.!

How long did it take for Akai to make an announcement then ship?
It took a long time to actually see live footage of the unit working.

With NI it took a day. Then it ships a month later.
They move like a real company should.

AKAI is looking like the Beat Kangz at this point... they have yet to deliver what was originally promised... and now the competition came along and just SONNED them for real. as soon as the new maschine 2.0 software is proven stable, it's over...

speaking of....... has anyone else noticed that a certain AKAI fan/rep has gone missing since this announcement??

you'd think he'd be pimping that 1.5 update like crazy... being his regular overzealous self... but he's probably applying for emptysea's job right about now instead.

......actually we all know he's currently using an AKAI-brand drill to try and make some holes to find in this new maschine studio.

Being a mpc head who owned a 2k, 4k, 5k and the ren.

The mpc is going to continue to hold it's own, like low bit-rate punchy sample kits. Many love the legacy hiphop beatmaking feel.


But, being a maschine fan over a year now. I'm excited to see the new software supports unlimited group banks.

I also see that NI is aimed to knock back Ableton and the Push controller (which akai help make) from getting a piece the pie.

The push was directed at maschine when released. Now NI is claiming it's crown as king of DJing and production.
