I'm getting one, the software looks dope, they added mutes, only thing missing is the 16 pad tuning that the Ren has. If it ever got that,it's a rap.hopefully they have a price break for Maschine owners. 1G these for gear had its time.

Nah, $99 to upgrade to 2.0 on your current Maschine or $999 for the whole kitten kaboodle.

I like how NI didn't leave old Maschine users behind.

well it has a thing to put it on keyboard so one sample does pitches sort of like 16 levels tuning.. and they got velocity too... at least on the old maschine that is already out.

is that what you mean?

Exactly, but I just like it as a button press feature, guess I'm being picky here :? But that's not a deal breaker for me. I'm grabbing one soon as it drops, unless Roland crash the party.

yeah true... well, on the other hand.. 2000xl needs you to push the button, scroll to the type, and turn it on.

I wonder what other params could be assigned to that feature aside from pitch and velocity... maybe filter frequency would be cool... or maybe an assignable function where you could pick what ever automateable knob.

Yeah that would be kool or maybe assign it from a keyboard controller?

shit yeah... I always liked the 16 levels feature on mpcs because on the 60 for example, I would quickly push the button to see what a pad sounds like at a low tune pitch to see if it sounds cooler.. before adjusting the pitch in drum tune... it was a quick way to find out what pitch sounded best with one click and the beat still rolling.

quick little things like that keep the flow going... that keyboard idea reminds me of threads you see every so often about can 16 levels be used and triggered with an external keyboard, or can you use it to do 16 levels on external gear.... all of which you cant by the look of it. I think that might be nice having a keyboard hooked up with maschine, and if there was a way to rig a project mix type of thing that would be sweet too.

Co Sign and by the way they already have 16 tunings via the pad control.

I own both a Ren and maschine mk 1 and the maschine served me well I had a long wait on the Ren to get up to speed on it. But this new maschine 2.0 is god damn!

Thanks to all for your replies I got someone to show me his MPC Ren and his Maschine MK2 at his place to get a better idea of the functions and workflow and the Ren is just not for me so I will pre order Maschine 2.0! Cheers.
