Well you have to remember Akai was heavily driven by internet forum conversation and went with the MPC3000 is the greatest thing ever made mentality.

They wanted buyers to feel it looked and sounded like the 3k so that's where the product landed.

No so sure they see the value in that right now?

its clear nukais policy has been little to no innovation, rehash old desgins and milk em dry

weve seen this repeatedly time and time again
you name it speakers, sunglasses, doostops, even a mpc turntable lol

to the people who want a standalone you can forget it
nukai fired all the mpc5k hardware folks to hire petey blues so he could tweet all day

it is rather comical...nukias marketing is ALL HYPE with no CONTENT....whereas NIs products sell themselves

good to see all the lies and bs is catching up with them

thank god NI relased this yesterday, causing the kneejerk os 1.5 release...otherwise we would have had the whole month of october full of teasers and tweets about os 1.5

was JAN fired?

I thought the exchange rate was quite favourable to us with the Ren, but we're back to being stung a little bit with this.

Same here. I wouldn't be too happy about having to go back to a standard interface if I couldn't get decent performance from the Onyx. If it worked well it'd be perfect. :)

if it still doesn't support multitimbral instruments they are totally crazy.
i mean, c'mon, you sell kontakt and reaktor and your only host is not able to make good use of 'em?

OT but, how do you like the Onyx? I've been looking into one to replace my old, but trusty, 1604 VLZ Pro. I was thinking either the Onyx or a dedicated MTR. I really hate the computer for music.
