only have my 1k + turntable at mo, but was wondering is it possible to play sounds/samples from mpc over full scales with a midi keyboard, much the same way you would play a sound module + midi keyboard.

Thanks :P

Yep, but it takes a bit of work: 1 MIDI note = 1 Pad, and you have no easy Range facility. So to get 61 notes, you need to edit 61 pads. That's what I did so I could use vintage samples like Mellotron supplied by Hollow Sun. I have a few of these on my main page (link below, with links to my PGMs and their samples). I also put a section about it at the bottom of the FAQ page I link to, and some of my own melodic samples on the "samples" page
How does it sound? The Mellotron is excellent, moody old skool... 8)

Hmmmmmm, thinks i see what ya saying, was just curious as at the moment i literally only have my mpc & decks, no pc or keyboard. There on the shopping list! Using friends pc for downloads at mo.
I have checked Hollow Sun though, got some top sounds RD50, TB303, etc etc, gottem saved on flash. Would love to check the mellotron now but dont think my work mates or boss for that matter would appreciate the moody grooves, I love the moody grooves though. Black keys for sure.
Thanks once again stereo for your input.

The 1K doesn't have auto-chromatic assignment?
