Check it out ok. You have a standalone MPC with PC intergration. When unplugged from the USB, its a regular MPC3000 but when plugged in, it becomes a super MPC with unlimited resources. Thats the type of shit yall missed out on.

I'd pay some original MPC 4K money for something like this. UNFORTUNATELY not willing to part with even a quarter of that cash for a "brainless" controller for some half-assed, DRM-limited software.

I won't knock your feature request. So add some 'MPC-guts' to the MPC Ren MKII-XL controller that has a colored LCD. :lol:

exactly. not even jah seems to get it. or at least he's pretending not to.

again, i'm not interested in color LCD screens, i'm interested in the fact that the maschine controller integrates so well into the software that it DOESN'T REQUIRE A MOUSE OR LOOKING AT THE COMPUTER SCREEN AS MUCH.

but then he keeps saying that the maschine CAN'T USE A MOUSE like that's a point against it. i'm talking to a damn wall built by AKAI here. :roll:

the "iconic MPC workflow" so commonly advertised for newer AKAI products could not be further away from the truth... no other MPC requires you to be twisting knobs on a controller while also using the mouse just to accomplish a single task.

The Maschine Controller has never been able to access 100% of the software.

You will find the same 'limitations' the MPC Ren controller has (naming files, etc) are the same limitations the Maschine controller has. I addition to that, functions from the controller such as browsing hard drives, detailed sequence editing, recording mute automation are possible with the MPC Ren controller but not with the Maschine controller.

well this should have only one request which is to give it a real MPC workflow and get you away from looking at the computer or mousing around.

Then we can finally say it has the iconic MPC workflow they promised.

If they make a new Ren with the same size screen but no true improvements in screen organization we will still be pretty much where we are with the current offering.

I think Akai should have done like NI did with the Mikro and made it not quite as functional as the normal Maschine.

Akai made the Ren and Studio pretty common and that may actually be a limiting factor for the Ren.

Gear the software more toward the Ren controller and let the smaller controller have to go about things differently.

I dont need a different screen or more in/outs. Everything is great about this controller.

If there was a MK2 i would like a :

HYBRID RENAISSANCE/2500 MPC

Let's say you have a full MPC 2500 INSIDE your MPC Renaissance. You would use it with the MPC Software when you connect it to your computer. You would use it standalone on a 2500 OS when you aren't connected.

It wouldn't be better than buying a Ren + a 2500. It would be the same but it's an all-in-one box for everyone.

well.. most people seem to want mainly the same thing, which is the option for stand alone, but has anyone stopped to think what Akai would have to do to accomplish that, and how much that Maschine would cost

they can't even seem to get their software rite.. how many bugs would that new controller have lol
