i'm trying to set the end of a synth sample to be triggered by note off. i've got the looped portion of the sample and the end set to zones 1 and 2 respectively. in the "play mode" window i have "as sample", "one shot", "no loop" and "loop" as options but no "note off" which according to the manual should be the fifth option in this window. what am i missing? sorry if this is a bonehead move on my part but i'm stuck as of now.

I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to do, but if you highlight the Note number in any of the Edit screens and hit Window, you get a few additional options. 8)

hmm...i was afraid it might not be clear. let me try to explain better:

i sampled a synthesizer patch with a long release. i've got that mapped out in keygroups and saved as a program in a multi. what i want to have happen is this: note is sustained as long as key is held down (looped portion of sample). when release the key, i want that NOTE OFF message to trigger the release of the sampled synth. herein lies the problem. i cannot for the life of me get NOTE OFF as an option for playback. it is not where the manual says it should be.

now, i'm sure i'm doing something monumentally stupid and just need one of you to point that thing out.

I think you need to set the Play Mode to 'Loop' and create your own release portion with the Envelope.

yeah, i was thinking that perhaps i was looking for the wrong thing...and that my goal was achievable via a different method. thanks for the tip. i'll give it a shot.
