I watched the video. He actually made a good point or two but mostly has it wrong.
1. The 1.5 update was always projected for an October release. In the month of September, numerous hints were dropped saything the release was imminent. Maschine Studio had nothing to do with the 1.5 release date.
2. The new features of 1.5 are MIDI Controller Mode and using the software without the hardware attachment. The remainder is bug fixes and small enhancements to existing functions. I'm not sure if tutorials for those are necessary...but anything to help out users is a bonus.
3. Akai did not release new plugins. They released drum kits and samples. Anyone taking the time to read Akai's website will know these are not plugins. I don't think releasing pictures of wavefiles would benefit anyone.

My thing is this, dude talks about how he wants the MPc to have nice new screens and he wishes Akai would give them to us and that the current screens are just good for old MPC's! Well, you wasn't saying none of that shit before October 1st! Prior to October 1st, Ren was shitting on everything on the market! Now the Studio get's announce and all of a sudden you want new screens?!
Seems like dude is just a bandwagon rider on the newest drum machine. First Beat Thang, then Ren dropped and Beat Thang ain't shit! Now Studio drops and Ren ain't shit!

I mentioned colored screens on the Ren awhile back and it was mostly met with indifference.
Now, I'll admit the color screens on the Maschine Studio look nice. But the same is true for the Fantom G, which hastprobably the best LCD of any keyboard workstation in its price range. The true tests will come from hands on use and how any new features are integrated.

Yeah! The screens are nice, but I would have simply been happier with a bigger screen, like the 4k/5k, mainly because of the Q-Link function. Can't understand how that was over looked!
