IMMINENT

why are you 3 beta testers crying over the spilt milk?
maybe you three should make a video?

the truth is nukai got owned by NI

the truth is the Ren users got owned by nukais push for for Elements

interesting to see that as soon as 1.5 is released dj hellfire is in posting bugs - shame they release buggy software on purpose

1. No spilled milk! Just squashing the misinformation, which many people claim they hate to see on here! Dan was actually going to allow the forum to be told after IMSTA but was reminded what happened with the last release promise that didn't happen!

2. There's always gonna be bugs. Luckily this time, there are no major ones!

3. Someone's always gonna "own" the older product with a new product. Every time a new product comes out, someone claims it "owns" the older one!

The "truth" is, NI woulda been completely **** stupid to NOT put out something that was a good competitor for the Ren or something that was equal to their previous line, given their experience especially. They already did this with the MK2 controller! At the end of the day, the Studio is still going to have the Maschine workflow. So ultimately it will still come down to whether you prefer the Maschine workflow or the MPC workflow. Everything else is just bells and whistles!

I don't think that Akai got owned by NI, I will admit that the new Maschine seems pretty cool but to be honest the only things that stand out for me with NI's new update is the multicore support, sidechain, and unlimited groups. The controller is cool but I can't see paying $1000 for a new controller when I already have one. The other features are cool but don't necessarily capture my attention. I hear they are selling the software for $100 which is cool. I think ultimately the Akai/NI competition is great, it definitely benefits us (the customer).

1. yes indeed akai are completely incompetent when it comes to releasing software, especially on commitments...hence the need for IMMINENT BS (poor mpc5k users who didnt even get any imminence - nuff said)

Say WHAT??!!!..  they software was READY, signed and Sealed...but they were afraid to release the date . you cant be serious :Sigh: :Sigh:

2. my point on realeasing buggy software is....why release software on 1st of october if you KNOW of bugs in it.....about an hour after it was available you open a topic with several known bugs...your on the beta tester team, right? so i guess you found these buys already
id prefer a release 15th of oct with the known bugs resolved....now all of you users will have to wait for namm for the next version

3. you are missing the point entirely, my fault, i should have been more clear...by 'own' i mean show up akai to be amatures when it comes to marketing, releasing a product, valuing thier customers yada yada.....first of all they released a product WAY before it was ready, a year later theres still a discussion about the legendary mpc3k circuitry...iconic workflow of the mpc ren (WITH A MOUSE), the vintage plugin fiasco (still ongoing for the studio users), transferring the license, elements being a rehashed product with a lousy interface.as for the mixer....well you know.

dont get me wrong...this is the best thing that could have happened for the Ren users since whack eye needs to step up their gaming skills...something they havent really been doing lately...as indicated by the Elements fiasco where andrew makes a 20 min video churning out the same gel-boy ICONIC LOOK AND FEEL BUZZWORDS hes been using for a year.
although i must admit in a way i look forward to namm...i wonder what lies daniel and andrew and can come up with this time - the ren being completey bug free being one of my favourites. SMH.

so to sum up....in regard to this thread.....no one really cares if whack eye had planned to release this on oct 1st....they care about it being a stable product which they can use

i disagree with you on the point there will always be bugs.....most software i use doesnt crash and has very little to no bugs....i guess i am using MATURE software.

Most companies don't announced the dates for software updates. There is a very good reason for this.

I'm sorry but i disagree with you on this...

Any software that adds features Pretty much Always has bugs...

I got maschine when it first came out, and it was pretty buggy.. Very unstable...
Didn't have all features it claimed to have...

It took until about 1.5 to be pretty stable.. Even after that with the added features, that added more bugs....

when jjos has added features, it produces different bugs...

Any major daw, When it comes out with it's X.0 version most definatley has bugs.....

I know that the new MAschine 2.0 will have bugs, Because i'm pretty sure for it t be multicore they started/coded from the ground up... NEw software from scratch...

I use reaper. And while it only crashes when i install a new third party plugin,(hence why i really aviod using most third party plugins) There are always bugs because they add new features and constantly squash bugs with each update...

The final reason that i disagree with you that they are bug free software is that everyone have different computer systems and interfaces that also can cause crashes and bugs...

Every software that is released is buggy when released..
By mpc_fiend Wed Oct 09, 2013 9:30 am
as i said, i am using Mature software...stuff that doesnt crash.....its not for nothing that many people do NOT constantly use the latest software....they wait for beta testers to use it and iron out the bugs so to speak.

if you are happy with using software which crashes, and is full of bugs go for it! fair dinkams to ya! i wouldnt waste my time with it....

all i am saying is...if whack eye knew 1.5 had severeal bugs.....why did they release it...why didnt they wait two weeks....to try and resolve some of the bugs....afterall there was no release date....so no commitment....

maybe you can do a poll JAN?

which do people prefer?
release 1.6 to be relased in 12.1.13 with 20 bugs
release 1.6 to be relased two weeks later on 12.15.13 with 5 bugs

maybe you guys perfer working with buggy software. maybe not. i know i dont.

You prefer what you prefer.

So at this point you are either 1) Trying to get Ren/Studio users to use what you prefer (no chance of it IMO) or 2) You are bored using what you prefer.

Obviously, I am happy with what the Ren brings to the table and the amount of support delivered from Akai/Numark/Sonivox.
By mpc_fiend Wed Oct 09, 2013 9:48 am
not at all JAN
nowhere have i asked ren users to use what i prefer
nowhere have i said i am bored
i am merely reflecting on a company which states it is professional, but far from it...

YOU were thrilled with the robustness of release 1.1 which clearly says it all

in fact...i even think you were saying...

Youre gonna LOVE the next update

you know..the update which caused the Ren to be totally unuseable and required an emergency relase a few days later :WTF: :WTF:

Forgive my ignorance. Will someone please define "Global Mixing"?

Loving the conspiracy theories. Keep 'em coming.
Maschine rarely comes up for discussion at Akai unless we're talking about Skittles, or painting the kid's room.

Or slashing the price of your 'flagship' product in half?

You should probably start talking about it a lot more from now on.

Right now you're not able to mix while you're creating a beat because every sequence has it's own mixer. Some of us (I'd like to say most of us) would want every sequence to use the same track mixer. Forum came up with the term "global mixer".

Pete, give us some hope on the mixer side of things! You guys are being awfully quite on this topic...

We're aware of it being a highly requested feature and we're looking into it......that's all I can say at the moment.
