The New Maschine Studio: NI just BODIED the Renaissance.....

So far I've seen DJ Ski, Krysis and Young Guru post pics of the Maschine Studio.

I'm curious of the size difference between the maschine mk2 and maschine studio.

You just get more groups rather than pad banks within a group which I find annoying.

Not sure the 2.0 update solves anything that I don't like about maschine. The new content will be welcome, however if the old sequencer has had little improvement then its gonna feel like little progress has been made in some key areas to me.

Not long to wait to find out.

this, they could at least give us banks instead of having to go into keyboard mode and hook up an external keyboard to do it. that shit is hella wack.
i would probably cop one if they finally did this.

Are you saying that's what you currently do or how the unlimited groups will be implemented?

Unless you use the Maschine live I don't see why unlimited groups is not as good as pad banks.

because the groups only work up to 16 pads at a time unless you go into keyboard mode (then its like 128) if im not mistaken.

anyway, on the mpc, you can have something in bank a mute something in bank b, c, or d, but on the maschine its limited to grop A muting things in group a, and things in group a could never mute anything in group b, but you can have more than 16 pads mute each other out if you connect a midi keyboard and go into keyboard mode. althoguh foge1 and i want them to have an option to work like banks on the mpc.
i want this because when i am making osmething int he mpc, i just chop it and lay it over however many pads (usually lay around 50 to 60 chops) and i set them all to mute group 1, then i play around live and find my melody by switching between banks and shit, but i cant jump around between banks on the maschine because ther banks (groups) are limited to 16 pads. this is the main reason i took my maschine back the day after i bought it actually. if it had this feature it would be dope imo.

Ok cool that makes sense. I don't work that way so it wa never a problem. The lack of groups was a problem however so I'm stoked to see unlimited groups now. Will be interesting to see how easy it is to switch between groups though.

Ok, American Musical Supply has the Maschine Studio available Oct 16 and Sweetwater has it being available Nov 1. Which release date is more reliable?

NI said 1st November in an e-mail I received so if go with that.
