CD-ROM only: do I still need to break pin 47?

I just got the version C of the Teac for $10 dollars on eBay. Since I do not have the hard-drive installed, it's hard as heck trying to find the HDM-10, will the CD-ROM/burner work fine without having to break pin 47? This pins are very small to deal with, and I'm fine with having to keep my samples on my laptop, just to burn them to blu-ray. Thanks in advance for your help!

just try to install the cd-rom drive without the pin mod and see if it works.

you can not break anything.

why do you need a hdm-10? normally it is included in every mpc2500 from the factory!
have you ever opened your mpc and looked if it is there? or did you buy the mpc used?

I bought it used. But, I got it. Put in a 60GB drive, initialized it, saved stuff to it, loaded from it, all is fine. Installed the CD-rom, it sees the CD rom at the boot up. Yet, When I tried to sample from the drive, it would say CD Not ready. Took out the HD, the CD-Rom did the same thing. Do I need to break away pin 47? Is there a way to "block it"? Thanks again for your help.
