This is new to MPC Ren 1.5 and it's not something I'm familiar with so I have to ask,

What is it good for? What is it used for typically?

One of the dopest MPC features!

For example, you can load just one bass sample on a pad, and then you activate 16 levels and set it to tuning (Im not in front of my MPC right now so i cant check if that's the exact term) and you can then play that bass sample across the 16 pads, and each pad transposes it up by 1 semitone. Get me?

Also same goes for velocity, for example: you set 16 levels to velocity, and the velocity range is spread across the pads. Handy if you want to tap in some hihats with some velocity variation, for example.

Check out the other options for 16 levels, too!

16 Level. What is it good for?

Absolutely nothing! (WAR!)

Sorry, I had to say it.
On the serious note, 16 level is one of the best feature of MPC, it is like Swiss army knife!

on the daily, 16 levels in TUNE mode is good for taking a bass note and making an entire bass line on the pads with that sample at different pitch settings... or using it on my hi-hat with the VELOCITY setting lets me play my hi-hats with varying volume levels per pad, allowing me to make the hi-hats sound more natural... and these are just the MPC basics...

on the mpc60 you need 16 levels velocity (IMO) .. it's great when you have a small little looping sound to fill in the gaps between the main sample chops and you can do a looping type of thing gradually getting lower or higher to make it sound a bit more natural or to have some better flow.

then it's also nice using tune real quick just to see how that pad would sound a bit higher or lower in pitch without actually changing the pitch.

I spent about an hour last night looking myself for this, and if it is possible to access from the software, they surely hid it well. :hmmm:

man, if it aint one thing, its the other :WTF: .. akai always misses one thing to make these updates perfect.. now we have to wait another 3 decades for an update.. the struggle! :Sigh: thanks for the feedback guys.. on another note, i believe the software is looking and working good (other than 16 levels) on stand alone.. still looking for other things that cant be done without the ren.. no bugs in my book though.. stay inspired everyone..

This new 16 level feature (new?) is the most sorry sad excuse for a NEW feature I have ever seen. Sorry but its true. The new function doesnt even make it that much faster, just one less button push to get to 16 level mode which was already easily and quickly accessible. Once again they take something that is completely fine and unbroken and try to fix it. Who came into the room at Akai and said "We need to upgrade this 16 level button!" they should be fired!!!!!!!!! Get your priorities straight!!!! lmaooo
