i agree.... i don't think i've ever paid over $40 for some vinyl... and i do have some rarities worth much more than that... i've also got the goats album tricks of the shade on CD as well as og cassette, so i don't really feel like i'll ever need that one on vinyl...

if you find Tricks of the Shade or Innercity Griots it would most likely be in the thrift store 99cent bin at this point i think....


i slept hard when ameoba had pauls botique og on the wall for $30 and in the racks they had the uk represses for $25.....


they also had these dilla "beat tape" eps on the wall for $30 a pop for a little while after he passed...... i think like 4 different ones....


it aint easy for me to drop that kinda cash on a record.

There are records worth at least high 3 figures in almost every genre, with many ultra rare records commanding thousands of dollars among hardcore collectors. Soundtracks, Libraries, Jazz, Funk, Soul, psychedelic rock, prog rock, private presses, New Age, whatever...

Digging is like going down the rabbit hole, it's really up to you how far down you want to go...
