I couldn't agree more. Maschine Studio and 2.0 doesn't exist in the public domain. No one here has used it. And I doubt many, if any, other forum member would drop $900 to give it a try.

If I said "you will love the next update'...I am talking about my hands on use of the product. So far...it seems like actual Ren/Studio users here like the update. Oh...wait to you see what's next. :shock:

I don't think he meant like that.
It's more like once the smoke cleared you can see things differently.

It's an upgrade to Maschine without a doubt but we got excited to quickly about the product.
It's nothing more than a required software update (adds lots of stuff they should have already given us) and a really flashy interface that all of a sudden made people feel the Ren was outdated.

The outdated look was the whole aspect of the Ren design and marketing ....... bringing the classic MP of the past to the computer.

Now all of a sudden some flashy lights and colored displays means they need to do a redesign.

Yeah thats kinda what I mean, once the shock of the really cool video is over, I think that 2.0 is gonna be a nice update but wont really change the things I never liked about Maschine and won't bring any oh my gosh it does that, thats incredible moments.

Still progress is good, I don't want to be too miserable about it, its nice my gear is receiving regular software updates

Good points! At a minimum the release of the Maschine Studio keeps Akai honest, made them drop their inflated prices of the Ren and Studio and helped to expedite the release of 1.5.

I was initially excited when I saw videos of the new Maschine in action, but I'm back to reality. I agree that the color screens are nice, but I've already got a 24in and a 27in and they cost a lot less than the $900-$1,000 for the new Maschine.

I'm happy with my current setup (finally:)

It all boils down to what each inividual feels comfortable or enjoys using.

I can make the same end resulting tracks on various sytems of hardware and software, but my preference is the MPC. I prefer my MPCs but won't say Maschine sucks. Too many people on both sides of the isle are proving that neither actually suck, cause there are some hot joints made on both.

Now I will say tha NI's Komplete is killing Akai's VSTi plugins but that's only my opinion :nod:

Yep, same here. The Komplete integration/browsing was the main thing I liked about Maschine. But, I have sort of a cool workaround for that. I picked up a used Kore 2 controller really cheap (less than $50) from Guitar Center. Even though it was discontinued it still plays nicely with Komplete.

You know I switched gear for a lot of different reasons. I don't think a colorful display was one of them.
