Hi,
This is a cry for help. My frustrations have been accumulating for almost a year. Since the Renaissance, I've only experienced hell. Just SEEING it makes me nervous.
After all the struggle I got with 1.5's Firware Update (two entire wasted days!), I was really excited to make music again, hoping all my dreams would be answered.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed again.
While things like Pulse Resolution (what IS that anyway!?) and improved 16-levels would be awesome for some, I've been praying for BASIC, SIMPLE, LEGENDARY MPC WORKFLOW updates from the beginning, with absolutely no luck. Without those things, I simply CANNOT make beats.
How could the MPC 1000 do a lot of those BASIC things, and not the superior Renaissance?
Please Akai, tell me: do you think you will EVER be able to look these things through? Because in the meantime, I'm literally waiting here looking at this God-forsaken machine not being able to make beats for a year now. EVERY TIME I sit down and start, I hit walls, and try to find workarounds. After that, ALL my creativity is GONE.

Here are my main concerns:
• Being able to load legacy projects WELL. (It takes me DAYS to transfer projects from my MPC 1000 to the Renaissance… Things like Mute Tracks, Attack, Decay, Effects, Filters, Time Signatures, Mixer Levels, etc., are totally f___ed when opening a MPC 1000 Project on the Renaissance.)
• When opening an existing Project, the Project should open on the Sequence and the Song that were worked on when the Project was saved (like on the MPC 1000). Why always opening on Sequence 01? I have to write down on a piece of paper which Sequence I've been working on!?!
• We still can't copy Songs. (Possible with the MPC 1000.)
• It's still not possible to change the Time Signature per bar in a Sequence. (Possible with the MPC 1000.)
• It's still not possible to highlight the Step column in Song Mode to scroll through Song Steps fast with the Jog Wheel. (Possible with the MPC 1000.)
• There is still no Step Edit. (Possible with the MPC 1000.)
• Why doesn't the Renaissance ask user if he/she wants to overwrite or create a new sample from the time stretched version of a sample without having to manually copy the sample beforehand every time? (Possible with the MPC 1000.) The Renaissance applies the Time Stretch to the sample without asking the user if he/she wants to overwrite it or create a new sample, which forces the user to manually copy the sample (with another name) BEFORE applying the Time Stretch. Time Stretch and Pitch Shift overwrites the original sample without giving you an option.
• We still can't copy Sequences on the software. Only Export or Clear. (WHY!?!)
• There still isn't a ByPass button on the Plug-Ins' GUI.
• If I'm not mistaking, we STILL can't reorder Tracks. (Possible with the MPC 1000.)
• When converting a Song using Sequences with different BPMs, the new Sequence uses only the BPM of the first Sequence and doesn't change it's BPM when needed. (The MPC 1000 changes the BPM of the converted Song when needed.)
• Multiple Plug-Ins still can't be opened at the same time (very useful when using an EQ and an Analyzer at the same time).
• The Freq value in the Filter section of the Program Mixer goes from 0 to 127, and not from 10 to 19999 like the other filters in the Inputs and Sends. This is not logical and should work like any other Filter.
• The Track Mixer doesn't work properly; it should be linked to all Sequences of a same Project. If this isn't possible, an alternative is needed as soon as possible, because this feature is crucial for the workflow of most of us. As an alternative, we convert Songs into long Sequences to able to use the Track Mixer as needed. But as I mentioned above, if the Song has different BPMs (or Time Signatures!), the new Sequence won't work properly.
• In Sample Edit, we aren't able to insert silence BEFORE the sample starts (so the sample starts later...) and being able to specify the amount of time for that silence. (I have to do that in Audacity... Can you imagine? Audacity is FREE. MPC is $1500.)
• Third-party Plug-Ins don't have the top of the GUI window displaying properly. See image:

Thanks for reading, and most importantly, if some of you out there feel the same way about some of the mentioned things above, please let me know so we can push the idea(s) to AKAI together!
