Hey people, I just lost my mpc 1000 due to an electrical surge I have upgraded to an mpc 5000 and now i cant load my entire programs. Are they not interchangeable files? thanks

Also when I try to load a large project file, it says not enough memory too

Any thought? Thank you.

Wow, a 100 views and no dice. I'll bite then.

You have to remember the MPC1000 sound is 16 bit at 44.1kHz while the 5000 is higher at 24 bit at 48kHz. Most likely, you'll need to convert your wave files in a program like Audacity, which is free. Thats why your 5000 can't read the files.

Sounds like your 5k may be stock 64MB, where the 1k had mem expansion.

I did that since the 1k used the $10 256MB sodimm from a laptop and the 5k had the overpriced mem expansion. I guess I was lucky to use it for 3 yrs and never needed to load more than 64MB samples for any '1' song.

bruh, i ahev to say that the 5k can read 16 bit wavs. Its the 1k than cannot read the high quality formats. This may boil down to not being able to load entire programs due to size and the amount of ram in his 5k cause I loaded files from 1k and 500 into 5K from CF and files I had backed up to PC/external drive
