Question Regarding Programs Mix & Track Mix

True. I missed that one. With the studio it's a task but I guess I'll have to deal with it.

Going old skool....

1. Set the Output of ALL Pads to 1/2 (as opposed to Track or Submix)
2. Then I mix like I was using a hardware MPC and ignore the Track Mixer

What advantage do you get going directly out of 1/2 as opposed to the submix? For me, the bypassing of the track mixer is my gripe!

It takes the Track Mixer out of the equation and you will be using the MPC Software like a traditional MPC. You would then mix using the Program and Plugin Mixer. I know it sounds like something you don't want.

But...trying recording a few sequences, mix as you compose..all while ignoring the Track mixer. You will still have inserts and send FXs, automation, etc.

The advantage is.....the same mixer settings across all your sequences.

Yeah, I gave that a try in the beginning! It just get's overwhelming with all the additional pad banks the Ren has now. But it'd be nice if the program mixer were able to be set to only show pads with assigned samples.

Ren needs an "Explode or Divide Drum Type" function. So after recording all parts on one track, they can be easily sent to separate tracks.

Most often though, I record each part to its own track..just makes it easier for bouncing into daw.
