Question MPC audio interface/monitoring

My MPC Ren will be here tomorrow! I have a question. I currently use a M-Audio Fast Track with my Mac Mini and Mackie Hr 824 (studio monitors) to listen to my mix etc. I also use them just to listen to music in my iTunes library as well. Will I be able to route my iTunes library through the Ren to do the same? or will i need to still use the M-Audio interface for that. I'd like to clean up my desk a bit!

I don't have a Ren but I'd like to know the answer as well. I'm guessing you could use it in this manner since it does have an audio interface (along with a pari of audio outputs which will connect to your speakers), but that at a minimum you would have to have the Ren turned on every time you wanted to listen to audio on your PC.

You can use the ren as the soundcard. If you have windows, you need to set it as the default device. On mac, you set it up in the MIDI app.

You can also use your ren and just setup the MPC software so that it uses your current sound card. You do not need to use the MPC Ren built in card.

example, I use the Ren when not useing the software as my soundcard. All sound from the machine goes through the Ren then out to the speakers/ headphones. The run power has to be on of course.

Yeah the Ren soundcard is super flexible. I run my internet browsing/podcasts through it and sample when something tasty comes along.

I use my Ren for this purpose as well sometimes. When I want to use headphones, with my iMac, I plug them into the Ren because the iMac annoyingly doesn't have a headphone jack on the front and reaching behind it is a pita!

YUP me as well. My Ren is my main sound card. I also have the M-Audio Fast track I just haven't taken it down yet. Guess I'm just being cautious until I feel totally safe that the REN can be dependable.
