How is the Element?

Any other reviews from Element owners? How u feelin it?

I'm an owner of the Mpc Element. So far I like it a lot. There are a few things I need to work out & or learn how to use. Am new to the Mpc world as an owner, tinkered with some of it back in the day( sp1200, and mpc2000xl ).

So far the Mpc Element is working out for me and is easy for me to pick up. There's not much info out there about the Mpc Element. The reason I chose Mpc Element over Mpd26 was that the essentials v1.5 added more audio formats to be imported and other enhancements as well.

As for a review I think a video will do better, but I can try to answer questions.

Also I'd like to add from my many hours of research, I've found that most Ren & Studio owners didn't care for the Element much, but liked the idea of the software (aka MPC Essentials). As I understand it, the owners of Ren & Studio can pickup the MPC Essentials software free & its sound packs.

Well (Ren/Studio owners) can get the mpc essentials for free but we cannot get the "elements of dystopia/dance/house" packs. Gotta pay 49$ each :/

how the hell do you get around the one track limit? it must get real cluttered after a while, no?

it's one track per instance but unlimited instance...

if you have a DAW, you can load an instance for your kick on a track.
then you open another midi track in your daw with another instance, then you create your snare...
then another one with plugins.
then another with midi instrument.
etc.

It's not limiting if you have a daw. It's actually better even for Ren/studio users when you're in your daw : it's a good workaround to the problem of multicore because a DAW is a multicore host.

In MPC Software you would switch to the next track directly inside the soft.
MPC Software is better, faster and more fun as a standalone. But it's singlecore so you gotta pay attention to the effects and vst you load there.

yes you could use it in a daw with unlimited instances... kind of like everyone already does with battery, kontakt if you dont route it, and every other VST. But seeing that the element is a sequencer itself, it seems dumb having to not use it as a sequencer and instead using it has a rex player within a daw that probably has it's own sample players built in.

How are the pads?

The pads are abit stiffer, But not too bad.

I don't know why the packs aren't there for you as it's part of the drivers. And everything I've read say it should be there!!

Well, that's where I think an video would work best. There will be plus and minus to all products I guess. But at $149, this has been the first time I can say "I have an MPC that isn't just DAW base".

But to answer you, I feel the experience is pretty close to that of the Fly on the pads.
