MPC Studio or Renaissance?

Hi I am looking to get an MPC to connect to my DAW (Logic 9)

I want something that I can compose drums tracks in and plays samples.

I don't want anything that it overboard and I would like to keep things simple.

I've been looking at other controllers but I've always like the MPC range.

My question is do I really need all of the functionality of the Renaissance?

Would the MPC Studio do for what I want and is it good value for money?

I don't want to buy something that has lots of problems with the software etc.

they use the same software (minus vintage mode)

I have not used the Ren but know people with it. Some love it, some hate it. I picked up Studio just over a week ago and I am enjoying it, without issues, but some issues are host system issues. Other than vintage mode and dedicated sound interface, I feel I have what I need to move forward. My USB mixer gives me plenty of inputs/outputs so I am OK.

I guses the main thing is, do you feel you benefit from vintage mode and/or a built in audio interface?

Lack of the extra Q Links is why the Studio could never be my main unit!

You get 16 dedicated knobs. I get 16, but only 4 dedicated, and use the scroll knob above them to scroll thru the other banks of Qlinks (Or I can turn them in software with the mouse if that is where I happen to be working as I can see all 16 in the software.)
