Converting stereo to mono

Can i convert my stereo samples to mono all in one go without having to do each sample individually? I have loads of beats that i need to convert but converting 1 sample at a time takes forever, is there a quicker way????

track it out and delete the side that you like the least

how what? inside the mpc? the track out method is pretty much self explanatory.

inside the mpc, go into TRIM mode.
find the sound you want and hit open window.
hit the F button under Convert

that will split the stereo sound into 2 channels (left & right)

now you have to go into program mode>assign and assign that new left/right sound to a pad.

make sense?

take all of your stereo samples.

dump them into sound forge batch converter
or any audio batch converter you want.
(you will have problems with this if your disks are formatted in mpc - a BIG headache trying to get them into pc)

batch convert all of them into mono 44/16.

import them back into mpc.

I format all my cards (I have an internal card reader in my 2kxl) in pc fat/fat16. Keep my filenames to 8 or less characters and I never have problems transferring (I also have a usb card reader on pc).

Sound forge 8 has a batch converter.
Awave has a batch converter.

Do you use hot swappable,internal atapi,external cf...what kind of drive are you using? Mpcstuff has one but its hella pricey..
