Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Sup All. I have an old a$$ NanoSynth connected to my MPC2000. Theres like 300 patches that you can only access by program changes. Unfortunately the NanoSynth isn't responding to the Prg. Changes that I'm sending to it with the MPC. Any suggestions.

I used to have the NanoPiano but never tried this. Are you definately sending the program changes on an MPC track sent to the right midi channel? If there are 300 patches it might be SysEx data rather than a simple midi program change, because midi numbers only go up to 127.

I cannot remember if these mini modules have a midi out or just a thru. If there is an out, connect a midi cable from it to an MPC in. Turn the program change dials on the Alesis with the MPC in STEP EDIT & see if you get any data coming up on the MPC screen. If it does only have a thru, you might find you still get some out signal from that.

Re-reading your post ....... are these an extra 300 patches which are not the ones you get from the front panel controls????

Sorry...This is an old thread. For some reason I couldn't post.

But ne wayz. The NanoSynth has 300 additional sounds that aren't accessable with the front knobs. The handbook says they can be accessed via a program change. Does ne one know how to do this with the MPC2k.
