I miss my 500 but I use a zoom sampletrak

I sold my 500 a few months ago and I totally regret it. I recently picked up a zoom sampletrack for that Lo fi sound. This is a Sammy Davis jr remix I did using the zoom sampletrack.

The sequencer is not that great but there some work arounds. Chopping is so easy and it's all done the old school way....by listening. Sampling in Lofi gives me the gritty sound and you can tell by listening to the hook in the Sammy Davis remix I did. For 85 dollars....not bad.

This has been on my wish list of gear, but I think I'm gonna learn my sp505 when I get it home, before I decide to scope for a ST-224. But it is a dope machine...

I like it... and yeah, I wouldn't on my own have ever thought 2 minutes about the zoom sampletrak... but every damn time someone talks about it.... it's got a dope beat attached and some shit about a sub 100 dollar price point. honestly, **** a ren.... when you can do some shit on that for a 13th of the price.

Yeah, I get that sometimes, especially when my white cells are dominating the red cells, so the balance is wacked out of proportion and things sound different and sour. I've heard dope tracks one night, to be like "wtf?" the next, but then hear the dopeness later on. Its weird but thats what happens, not my fault got dammit.

I got one used from GC, but I honestly forgot what I paid for it. (I want to say $100-150??)

Even though I downloaded the manual, they weren't very clear which memory cards it can format and use. One site told me 4mb, another 16mb tops. So I ordered a 4 & 8mb card, and I'm going to set up my portable Vestax turntable to my SP505 using compression, and straight into the 224. I only have thrift store/yard sale records(Not including some old 90's breaks/house I own), and tomorrow I want to sit down and get some samples chopped and saved on the cards. I might sample my iPad into it as well, but if I don't have time, I can do that later.

Glad I picked it up for as cheap as I must have, because I'm sure these will go up in price the more rare they get. It's a bit more tricky to learn its functions, and sometimes you have to hold down 2 buttons at once, but it's not that big of a deal. The FX are decent, but you can use more effects if you have it chained to any SP or Kaoss pad.
