Wow... ok i have only owned the MPC studio for a few days and have had so many crashes i am hesitant to use it now.

I have moved from VST to AU's as i seem to have less crashes when using AU's, but still having an enormous amount of crashes.

I am used to the stability of Reason and Ableton.

Seriously nearly every session I have sat down and used the MPC studio has ended with a crash and me losing the beat i have just made. i only have about 8 plugins in my list FFS. i have completely stopped using FXpansion Single Mault as it crashes MPC everytime without fail, and the lovely Molot compressor also crashes it every single time.

Disappointed in this software akai :fku:

Im on the verge of buying a studio, cant resist at current pricese, but Im still hesitant,..specially when I see post like this, then others say its quite stable.. ???

Can we have a poll on this topic please to put this into prespective..

Might want to add to this poll the common factors for crashes?..
System/ specs , mac/pc, certain plugins or commands?

Think a poll like this could be of great aid to Akai ..

Weird. Mine hasn't crashed once for me and I have hundreds of VSTs and usually leave a project running for days.

Windows 7 64-bit
Core i7
8GB Ram
Ableton Live 8

Can you tell us more about the crashes? Maybe we can help.

Edit : I'm going to make a new thread, please pm me any plugins that crash with os details.

Ok it's good to hear some have stability.

I'm on Mac OSX Mountain Lion
Mpc 1.5 software

So far I have isolated Molotov compressor as always crashing. Instantly.
Only in AU mode, vst seems to run longer.

I have just set up a fresh install of mountain lion and I will update as I go with plugins that definitely crash mpc 1.5.

Maybe windows is more stable then mac osx?

*** Instant crash on plugin load ***

AU Plugins:

Molot Compessor
SingleMault Distortion (as soon as a value is changed)

I use multiple VST and rarely have any crashes on my MPC studio. I still have a habit of hitting CTRL+S a lot, just out of habit... I see you're running MLion, but what's your CPU and RAM configuration? Just curious as I see less people running MAC with issues. I still run win8 64bit with quat core i7 and 8 gb ram (That I considering bumping to 16GB)

Once software is multicore, I imagine a lot more of us will find a lot more stability... Almost 2014 and uniprocessor software... Come on AKAI, get it together.

Yup true that. But I'm talking a crash every 10min. Kills any inspiration to make beats

Yes, regardless of the workflow, constant interruptions can change the mood and often make us go 'do something else'

If you are getting crashes you really need to find the culprit.
It's something other than 1.5 or maybe something you are trying to use with 1.5.

My i5 laptop with 6g ram has been loving 1.5.
It hasn't crashed and I have been talking it through some heavy paces to try and make it hiccup.

I'm also happy that it seems to manage resources better than Maschine 1.8, the CPU stays pretty much nonexistent compared to doing the same work on Maschine.

Ok so I've culled a bunch of plugins and still no stability increase. I have tried using my windows machine (i7 32gb ram win64) and that's crashing heaps too.

I am envious of people who are getting a stable runtime.

I have plenty of other pieces of software that run very stable. And I am having this problem across 3 different computers all with different os/hardware.

The only thing all three have in common is reaktor. Maybe Akai don't want me using NI software lol.

Though crashes happen even when reaktor isn't loaded.

I tried to have a go yesterday and the program crashed when I was sampling a drum loop off a record! No plugins/no load on the program. Just recording a small audio clip.
FFS...
