automate / write filter movement

Dear Forum Fellaz,

I'm using an XL2000....I sampled a bassline, and i would like to write/automate the filter movement (with my scrollwheel) in my sequence. (from zero to 100)

Is this possible?

I want to use this sequence as a "breakdown" in my track....(just a muffeld bassline, and get open at the end of...)

one way to fake this on a 2k/xl is to turn the filter to 0, hit open window on the filter setting, put amount to 100 and attack to 100.

the sweep will not last very long.

another way is to chop the sample up into 16 or so parts, play the parts in as chops, and use the note variation to set the filter increasing on each hit.
it is not a smooth sweep but it still sounds pretty good.
