Possibility to revert to 1.4?

Hi,

Because my Waves Plug-Ins don't work well on 1.5, I was wondering if I could revert to 1.4.

I saw in the other thread that you're using OS X.
Just so you know, I have the same problem with Waves plugins in VST format, but they work fine in AU.

Just delete the MPC application in the applications folder. Reinstall 1.4.

Uninstall Directory for Driver, Software, and Content:

Mac- HD\Library\Application Support\Akai\MPC
Win- C:\Program Files (x86)\Akai Pro\MPC

Shouldn't be any issues! Only way to know is to try it!

I reckon you should be fine with the new firmware running 1.4, but as Hellfire says, just try it. My advice is to delete all the relevant files and then reboot as I've found without the reboot you sometimes run into problems.

There's a few things to delete on a Mac, but there should be an 'uninstallMPC' app in Library > Application Support > Akai > MPC. Otherwise I believe you should delete:

Applications > MPC
Library > Application Support > Akai > MPC > Frameworks
Library > Application Support > Akai > MPC > FX
Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/MPC.component
Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/MPC.vst
Library/Application Support/Digidesign/MPC.dpm

There should also be an 'Akai MPC Driver Remover' app in Library > Application Support > Akai > MPC, you could run that if you are having problems (separate reboot required)

Hi all,

Very happy to announce that after tons of tries, "Uninstall MPC.app" finally worked.

I then rebooted and reinstalled 1.4.

So far so good, even with Firmware v.1.10.

The only thing that doesn't seem to work is the standalone version of MPC.

I would go back to 1.5 and try to figure out what's wrong with your Waves plug ins before I would deal with no standalone and a crash ratio like that.
