reaper is basically my mixer
all outputs from the MPC are set up record enabled in Reaper, always listening
very cool to drop fx on the analog outputs from the MPC. i leave drums on the spdif.
i compose in the MPC and use vstis as an extension of my MPC. dial in a patch/library, then play and record "da midi" on my MPC.
when i'm done with the outline of the beat, i record everything from the mpc as audio, drums individually tracked out, and the midi composition data as well. then i turn off my mpc and finish it in DAW.
it's nice feeling like you're working with 1 integrated system instead of a bunch of separate components.
