For what it's worth, I don't experience this problem.
10.9, tested on a MBP 2011 and a Mac Pro 2008.

I installed 10.9 thinking I'll have to go back to 10.8 quickly, but everything is fine until now. I mean, even Pro Tools 9.0.6 is working fine!
A miracle.

N.B: I don't use the Ren as an audio interface.

I'm running MBP 2012 i7 16gig ram 750gig hd never had an issue before Mavericks...but i digress ...It could be my system but I just wanted to warn my brethren of potential problems .respect

I'm fairly new to Mac, how do you revert back to Mountain Lion? I don't have a disk, mountain lion was already installed when I purchased the computer.

You're right.
I won't recommend upgrading so soon on a "production" system.
I had some time so I just tried, it takes two min to restart on the 10.8 drive on the Mac Pro anyway.
I'm just surprised how smooth it's going.

It can be your system, or the different audio card or something else…

You should make a clone of your system on another drive/partition before upgrading and clone it back if you need to.
You can use Carbon Copy Cloner (free) or even better SuperDuper (not free) to do that.
You can also boot from a Time Machine backup and restore everything to a previous state, but I never tried that.

Maybe you can get the 10.8 installer on the AppStore, but installing 10.8 on top of 10.9 is a really bad idea, IMHO.

You just do a backup with timecapsule, find a ML iso on the net, mount it with diskutility in a pen drive or a HDD partition for the purpose, at least 8GB needed.
The restart MBP holding option key.
Once in installer first page select disk utility, erase your main HDD an exit disk utility.then hit install ML and you are done.
Once it finish installing, you will be asked if you want to recover some data, you point to your timecapsule HDD and all your setting , programs etc will be the same.
I've done it this way the other day from Maverick GM to ML.

Yeah, it's a bug....

when I first installed Mavericks, I got this message:

"the (AKAI)ext found in the library not being registered and to contact the manufacturer."

Now my Mac Mini doesn't get any signal from my mac, to either record, monitor or sample from it. when I choose it as an output source, it selects it, but doesn't play any sounds from the Mac, however, a song or project will play fine.

Come on Akai, let's fix this!

Who do I contact at Akai and where do I report this?
