What is the future for the MPC Renaissance?

I just wanted to here users opinions on this.

When the Ren was released I was excited, but didn't have the money to spend
but now I am happy it wasn't in the budget because all of the bugs and glitches.. and now Maschine released 2.0 with a new controller

I like Akai, i mean I own an MPD32, so I am kind of familar with the controller layout. But I find it hard to invest money on a product who's company is not so experienced with software and seems behind in technology..

I don't know but, Native Instruments knows what they are doing, Akai reminds me of WCW wrestling after the nWo era.. old and in the rebuilding stages

I also feel that their products could be in danger aswell, kind of like Blackberry z10.. a good phone, but people lost trust in the company so their phones are not selling as much as they would like.

Even if they release a new amazing Ren.. do you guys see it as a product line that will last for a long time

I think the Ren is the best MPC EVER, however Nukai have killed the MPC and when you see NI Maschine got da pretty screens, Akai employees still needs work to make it useable and I'd like to personally punch all of them in the face!

I think at some point they will get the software thing down....Either by hiring some guys from native instruments or finding some real talented guys from some top software company's.... As for the MPC its self I believe the ren is going to be around for a long time. I dont see them coming out with a new ren 2 or anything for at least 5 more years. I think that if they could come up with a way via a firmware update to use the ren stand alone and with the software they would be in a better place as a company. Let me explain... say I make a beat on the ren stand alone then hook my ren via USB to the MPC software and mix,add effects and export my tracks. Also if you choose to do everything on the computer with the ren you could do it like that too... Just food for thought.

Damn Coz... you pretty much sewed it up.

Don't know about the future of the Ren for others, but for me it's gonna be my center piece for a long time to come. I've enjoyed it since the buggy 1.0 days to now. I probably don't use the MPC how others are, but it does exactly what I need it to do. It does need some work still, especially with organizing and maintaining settings like the VST/FX layout. I can deal with it until they get around to fixing it. It's not a deal breaker for me.

Still wish they'll fix the lag when switching to chop mode. I feel like that should be instantly and not a few seconds delay or just let it start in chop mode already.

You know I'll personally punch some faces at Akai. I'll battle Dan and O'donnel in the Thunderdome. Three men enter but one man leaves and thats me. Dan is hung by his ankles with steel chains and he's vomiting blood, while O'Donnel lays lifeless on the floor with a hammer-drill stuck in his right skull.

This just got uncomfortable

Just sold mine. Ive done waited a year for the ren to be at a state where im satisfied and watch the value plummet to half of what i paid for.

If you can stand to use it now, then the future can only be better for you, but for me, just couldnt wait anymore

Love the hardware but damn.. that software needs a good year of more work to be at a satisfactory rate for me.

I have good hopes for the Ren MK2 when thats released in a good 2 years from now. NI about to put Akai to sleep in 4 more days though...

Not going to happen, there is no processing power in the controllers, it is just not possible.

At Winter NAMM 2014 they will show a new MPC Software controller made out of MPX8 parts.

Ren MK2? I doubt seriously that Numark is going to get a second bite at the apple in this arena. If they do try again after the Ren it will still be again years behind it's competition in development. I also don't think the customer trust will be there to support it.

I have to say the future doesn't look rosy.

Nukai really screwed up on this one. They traded customer loyalty and brand reputation for a quick buck.

I bought the studio a couple of weeks ago and I'm seriously considering selling it and just writing off lost cash as my own stupidity in trusting nukai could actually deliver a good mpc.

I think it's pretty disgusting the way they lied about the hardware 60/3000 modes, and the software stability is piss poor. Really bad.

I might be able to sell my studio now and maybe re-buy one for $50 secondhand when nukai abandons the software in the near future.

Let's face it guys... Akai isn't even a ghost of its former greatness, it's just a costume numark wears to extract money from akai's loyal fanbase.

Those Akai reps piss me off too. Daniel and Anthony? Or whatever their names are. Fake ass motherf#ckers lol
