Doesn't matter if the quantize is on or off, it's an awkwardly built sequencer for certain types of grooves.

Sounds like user error to me, or an expectation that you can force it to behave just like an MPC. The quirks in Maschine's sequencer have been discussed to death around here, and in a nutshell, the worst of the problems is 'Note Input Quantize' that Hellfire has talked about a lot. Thankfully they've ditched it for 2.0.

Really?

As I've mentioned plenty of times on here before, I was given Maschine for free. I had no interest in it, didn't read any reviews and would never have bought it. I ended up being pleasantly surprised. Without learning it from top to bottom, I did play around with it quite a bit. It's all over my track 'Path 5' on soundcloud, including a lot of sequencing and all the drums.

Ultimately it was the controller that let it down for me. When stuff stops being used it gets flipped around here.

You don't get the convenience of an inbuilt synth with the 4K, but with a bit of work you can turn it into a modular synth powerhouse. Its abilities in the synth department go over and above any other MPC. :smoker:

even in 1.8 you don´t have to use this feature. just turn it off in the preferences...

I never got to 1.8. Seems strange that people still mention it if the option is there to switch it off. :hmmm:
