Smile Roger, that's your (unwanted, forced to redesign in plastic, with no armrest, flip screen or SCSI) child!

the floppy emu... im good on formatting usb drive formatting. still says cant recognize disk drive on mpc 60. i totally havent had time to check it out fully. seems as soon as I got my new vintage set up my schedule has prevented me from diggin in. at some point i will have to find out if the drive is defective or bad connection inside or what

so with recent developments i've put the mpc 5000 aside to ward off any future work loss and i think im gonna rock the mpc 60 ii for a while. i have to finally open her back up to check the floppy emu connections as the mpc sees the drive but not the disc when inserted. maybe loose connection or jumper setting wrong. but on another note I ordered the 3.10 os roms from Roger Linn (he gave me a bit of a hook up on it). will install when they arrive and then im riding it out with the mpc 60 ii. with my 5000 i sampled everything (all my synth parts) back into the 5000 so i wouldnt have to save midi dumps like i used to do on my 2000xl back in the day. but i may have to go back to midi dumps from my synth parts to save sample time. or at least figure out a hybrid situation with logic to track immediately.

I would get rid of that emu and bless the 60 with the HXC floppy emu offered by Lotharek. Better display, functions and support. She deserves the best especially after RL done tatted her up. :smoker:

Right This was mentioned before. I just may do that. Considering I may have a bum emu because I fully tested the original floppy drive successfully.

is this the one you are talking about
http://www.lotharek.pl/product.php?pid=42 just might do that. looks like it worked in this cats sp1200 just fine

^^^^ Yes, that is the one. You won't be disappointed.

Congrats. You should have it within 7-14 days. On ATARI forums I read a couple of stories of people waiting 45 days but they are located in countries with slow ass customs. Shipping to the US is usually smooth though. :smoker:

at long last. swapped gotek for rock solid lotherak floppy emu.

it does take a little configuring. fat file system, then download install floppy emu sw, save out the cfg file to the sd card. the cfg file allows for the equivalent of 80 floppy disks to be used on the card. i was able to save and load from it immediately.

This restore is all done.
