Hy fellow Beatheads
My newest beat is called Dream On.
Its a mix of ambient vibe soul licks and a baseline I low ended with sax licks in the chorus part.
Drumwise I focused on a certain pause/break between the last hits to get the simple loop interesting.
A ruff mix is done in the MPC Ren and I physically record the outs of the Ren (with the 60 EMU) dry into a master track of ableton.
This master track was processed through the Waves SSL channel strips and my "secret" "grimy chain".
All my newer beats get a a hard limiter on it, plus mp3 only, to ensure safety of my tracks.
The way I do my music is not any different than on my old 2KXL or SPs.
The modern hardware just gives me the freedom to do it quicker than before.
So I hope that you'll enjoy this new beat and it would be great if you give a small comment to this thread

Hey folks,
got my Ren now for 1 month. as a fan of hiphop stuff with 90's vibe im quite happy with it.
Its actually a whole track, with raps on the beat already, but the beat and mixing process was completely done in the MPC software.
