Do you have internal/SCSI ZIP for you computer?
If so, use a tranfer disk. ie, a regular zip disk used specifically for tranfers between the pc and mpc.
I have 2 internal 250zips, one inside my mpc2kxl and the other inside my pc.
I got 2 zip disks I use ONLY for transfers to/from.

You got a LONG road ahead man, I aint gonna lie to you.
Use a wave editor to uh, edit wave forms and to master on your pc.
Use a multitracker to track out your songs, add vocals, mixdowns
and pre-mastering.
ie, wave editor, sound forge, wavelab.
ie, multitracker, vegas, cool edit pro, adobe audition.
check out www.hitsquad.com and browse through their music software for demos of MANY different programs and maybe you will run across one you like.

"I have one zip drive for my mpc. when i tried to use a floppy disk to transfer a song I opened it up and it wasnt my song"
What is the exact file you are transferring from mpc to computer and trying to play on the computer, what is the exact filename and extension?
"I also dont know what programs i will need to be able to play the stuff from my mpc or to edit it"
Play what stuff, specify what exactly you mean by STUFF?

Do you have a sound card on your computer? Just plug the stereo outs to the inputs on your soundcard. I use a mixer and I have the 8 outs but you can use just the stereo outs and use the internal mixer on your MPC. As for software, I use Cool Edit Pro which is now Adobe audition. It's got all the basic features of Protools and supports DirectX plugins. You can't really make full wave mixes on an MPC (except the 1000 see above) You can only save individual samples, midi and program info.
