In Need of New Headphones [Studio pro's Help a padawan out]

I was recording the other day and noticed when I attempted to do ad-libs and strengthen the vocals by doing overlay's the microphone was picking up bleeding from the headphone I have. they, the headphone's I have, aren't studio quality but had served their purpose for a while, now they have become out-dated, what are some reasonably priced headphone's which do not bleed audio out for the mic to pick up?

You need fully closed headphones, not semi-open or open, to minimise bleed into the mic.

I like the Beyer Dynamic DT770 Pro, but you will get lots of different recommendations, depending on what people have used.

They do a DT770 M version, designed for drummers/live-FOH, I would probably go with those for tracking vocals, as they have increased isolation...

yes the DT770 are very nice but do you really need them?

if you're only worried about recording vocals do you need to spend 150 bucks on a pair just so it doesn't bleed into the mic?

I think there are some 30$ headphones that would do the same.

I just picked up some Audio Technica ATH-M50 and love them.

I made a thread on here a few weeks back and these headphones was strongly recommended by various members from this forum, I finally took the jump and purchased a pair and to be honest they are perfect.

we use the Sennheiser HD280s. They're closed back, and they fit super tight on the head. They bump too. Check them out.

+1 on the m50s, I'll suggest them any day.

Thanks alot bredren for all the suggestions, knew ya'll would be the subject matter experts. did some google research but I'm fearful that the site's promoting certain brands may be doing so due to under the table influences.

i have the ath m50s and they are dope too.

i think fourms like this one or gearslutz, will be pretty unbiased company wise if your worried about that.
