I am new to Mpc and also owner of a Maschine MkII , I think it could be very good if Akai renewed the way you get access to all your samples plugins and sounds .
It should be easier like if your looking for drum kits , you get access to them by just klicking drum kits and so on for all other categories ...

Thanks !

Just to say , I am loving my new Renaissance , the hardware is sooo beautiful !!!!!

I kind of do this in the browser filter now by saving locations for my most used sound types. I have one set to drum kits, one to sound effects, one to saved songs, etc...

Other than saved locations of your sounds that you know, or browsing to your folder you named as basses, strings, snares, claps, snaps, kicks, and so forth, its hard to determine if that .wav/.snd/.mp3 is a drum kit, or a short vocal pull from vinyl.

When loading in VSTs and such, this usually works because everything is already categorized in the VST modules themselves. In most of my plugins, it works as you're saying AKAI should do, but the functionality either exists or doesn't depending on the plugins, not the plugin host...

Once I load my plugin, it's usually ez to pick a category and browse those sounds moments after picking, drums, bass, keys, strings, etc...

Unless I am way off from what you are wishing, or my workflow is just slightly different.
