Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I've been getting this a lot lately.. I use 100MB zip's. Whenever I try to load the .aps it does this.. but only when there is large phrase samples to load. I have to keep trying and trying to load it until eventually it might work.

Does anyone know what causes it and how to prevent it. I know to keep it out of direct sunlight, heat, away from magnetic forces etc, but the disks load fine other than in these instances.

Thanks,
Ares

Just started happening this weekend to me also(twice). It happened when I was loading up a PGM and the funny thing was the PGM was all loaded up fine.

Sounds like a faulty disk? It may just need reformatting.

Are you sure the zip disk is not full?

^hah yea, its got like 70mb left.. anyway, I dont think its a bad disk, It works perfectly fine for some songs, and others it **** up. I'll try to save all my songs on PC then FORMAT and save back up.

Thanks

I've had a similar problem once too with .aps, only certain ones and it tends to be with the larger files, do u use a pc or convert stuff from .wav to .snd because i do, i wondered if this had something to do with it ??

It's a good reminder to us all to back our discs up regularly

I use my PC to edit drum sounds, which are in the APS, but the files it stops loading on are big phrase samples.

I'm going to buy a HD.. but I figured out that if I load all the samples into the mpc, then load the .aps over the samples, it works ?!? Odd.
