ANY tips about the mpc-stuffs Fatpads and corx for MPC2000xl

Hey, i just got a lot of nice stuff for my mpc 2000xl se today, and im happy with all of it but im having a struggle with the corx under the fatpad, some of the pads work really smooth and some of the pads struggle, sometimes it assagn the pad next to it, sometimes it dosn´t sound and sometimes it works properly! anyone having the same struggle? i applied them really tight as well, its the new rubber-like corx, not the real corky one-corx! Have anyone tried both fatpads and original pads? have anyone tried with and without corx? what is your favourite? Please reply folks and have a good one!

agreed... the fat pads are crap on the 2000xl (or anything older) it's also crap on the mpd16.

I replaced the original rubber pad on my MPC-2000XL long ago, because it had become sticky.
The original style drum pad from MPC stuff is good. It worked well without any mod.
I ordered it in gray, but the new pad is a bit lighter gray than the original pad.

Maybe you should install your fat drum pad without the cork stickers.

Thank you for your answers folks, agreed that the fatpads are bad for the 2000xl then, i even tried without corx, sucked anyway, so its the original size ones that works the best, without corx, the sensors are already tight!

Fat Pads do not require corx because it's already built into the design.

on the ones for the 2000 they are not as deep as the ones for the 1000... so you can put them or else there is a chicklety push to them.

the problem with the fat pads is the rubber is hard. not soft and ...... rubbery. it's like finger jabbing one of those red erasers when they are a few years old and they got dried out.

That's the same reason I sold the fat black pads on the 1000... the original grey from the pad upgrade were much softer.
I figured I'd be disappointed if I ordered the fat pads for my 2000. The original pads are still like new and nothing beats the feel of them.

I ran with them on the 2000 for a while... it was no good for me. I put them on the mpd because the way I work with that isn't like on the mpc hitting stuff live so much... I tend to use it more to repeatedly tap while adjusting start and end points on a NDC sampler in a daw... so it doesn't matter if it doesn't connect perfect every single tap.

Thanks for the heads up about how they are on the 2000. I thought about buying the fat black pads for cosmetic purposes. But on the other hand, I'm happy with the stock look and the stock feel of the 2000 as well. Now I'm satisfied to keep it that way.
