From FL STUDIO to MPC

Yo what's up I have a lot of questions about the MPC world and I think this is the right place for solve them.
First of all I used FL Studio for years and I really love this DAW.
I take samples from my Numark turntable and I chop'em with my MPD24 in the faster way ever using Slicex.

Anyway I'm getting tired of PC for making music for several motives and I want to switch to another system.
But I don't know the MPC world and I don't know how these instruments works.

This is the VST I use for making beats in Fruity


I need a sampler that allows me to chop the whole sample quickly without problems, a sampler that gives me the waveform of the sound, a sampler that allows me to edit the volume envelope of the chops, and obviously with the undo function.


Secondly can I import .wav samples from my HDD to the MPC?

Another important things are the mixer, the FXs and the EQ..

...A curiosity what is the role of the RAM in a MPC?

MPCs for your request would be 1000 or 2500 with the latest JJOS. Or if you like the FL layout, I would suggest the MV8800. The Divide X feature is kinda like the SliceEx on FL too. Only thing is that the MV's layout is not as pretty as FL but will kinda feel like home. Be warned, there is a learning curve and the MPC functions differently than the MV. But once you slayed the dragon, everything becomes royalty.

The layout isn't my priority, if you guarantee me that the MPC1000 can do all those things I'm ok with it. I can easly found one for 300/400€ here in Italy, the MV8000 is too expensive, the cheapest I've found cost 600€.

I know there are many things to learn with the mpc but it's worth it.

does it have fx? yes, are they as good as the fl studio ones? no way. are there as many fx? no.

can you bring sounds from the computer hdd? yes....

the max ram the 1000 can take is 128 megs. that is for sample time... not for speed or anything else. it means you can load more samples onto the pads... or longer samples.
